ASHLEY'S LIFE UPDATES:
A little recap of the most exciting thing(s) I've done this month!

This month has been both incredibly busy and totally uneventful. Does that make any sense at all? The end of July is sort of when all that "It's Summer!" happiness fades off and becomes "Oh, no.. Summer's almost over." I participated in the BookTube-A-Thon this month and read A TON as you can see above. That same week I, unfortunately, got into a car accident. The stupid old woman who turned out in front of us got a ticket, thank god, but my car (which I'd barely had for like.. two months? You can actually see it in one of my older wrap-up posts) didn't make it. I know it might be overreacting, but I LOVED that car and kind of felt like I had lost a pet or something, y'know? I'm better now.. but it's still sad to talk about. We used the money that we got from the other woman's insurance to buy me a new car. It's not nearly as amazing and fantastic, but I guess it'll have to do. :(

This month, I also went to see my best, best friend and two of my other close friends in a production of RENT! They were all in the ensemble, but AMAZINGLY PERFECT nonetheless. The production was actually really good-- especially since all of us are used to doing mostly youth theater. That was, like, one of the biggest high-lights of my last week for sure. I also DIP DYED MY HAIR! I'f you haven't see the pictures yet, I'll toss my before and after pick down here. I LOVE how it looks and plan on keeping it like this for as long as possible. The only other thing I can think of to mention is that over the past few days I've become even more of a nerd and gotten back into Animal Crossing!! I play Animal Crossing: New Leaf on my 3DS and if you have it, you should tweet me or something so I can friend you. YAY! How was your month? I hope it went well! Talk to you soon!

ASHLEY'S LIFE UPDATES:
A little recap of the most exciting thing(s) I've done this month!

If you follow my life at all, you probably know that I just got back yesterday from my trip to NYC! I actually intend to do an entire big blog post about it (that will be going up sometime in the next week), but I couldn't make my monthly recap without showing you guys some of the pictures we took there! I've made some selections from the numerous pictures I took in the big apple and edited them together here for you. On our first day in the city, we went to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum. Being that I LOVE pop-culture, this was something I was super excited about. Below are some of the very best pictures we took there. You can see me with Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, Johnny Depp, the Clinton's, Indiana Jones and most importantly, the love of my life, Leonardo DiCaprio.


Madame Tussaud's was only a small portion of our trip, but it's probably the place we took the most pictures. It was definitely the place where I was in the most pictures that we took. However, we obviously did tons of other fantastic stuff over the last week. Below I've picked out four real gems to share with you guys. I live in Ohio, and on the way to New York we drove through Pennsylvania. My mom, sister and I all LOVE the show Dance Moms, so we couldn't go through Pittsburgh without stopping by the Abby Lee Dance Company and taking a few pictures outside. Fortunately it was a Sunday so it was closed and no one was there to think we were crazy. We did see Abby's parking spot, though. SO COOL.

While in New York, I was lucky enough to see my first ever Broadway show (which is a big deal considering I'm nineteen years old and have been doing theater since I was four) along with two more after that!! The first one we saw (and the only one we knew we'd end up seeing) was Cinderella! Let me just tell you, it was FANTASTIC. We also went to see a taping of Live! with Kelly and Michael! It was so, so cool. Kelly was on vacation (which was okay with me because I got to see the back of her head while I was working at Disney last year, and I've also heard from people I worked with that she isn't the nicest woman ever) so we got to see Brooklyn Decker AND Whitney Cummings as hosts (because they pre-filmed the Friday show while we were there on Wednesday.) Going there was AMAZING and afterwords we had someone take our picture in front of the set.

Now, you've probably already seen that last picture and peed your pants about it, so let me explain. 1. These pictures are out of order and for some reason I feel like I should point that out even though it's irrelevant. 2. On one of the days were were there we went to watch a taping of Good Morning America from outside the windows. That day, they had the cast of Girl Meets World there and I took tons and tons of pictures of them. But, that's not the best part. After the show, a lot of people had already left, but we stuck around. Thank god we did, because FREAKING BEN SAVAGE CAME OUTSIDE AND I GOT A SELFIE WITH HIM. Yes, yes. I know you're jealous. I still can't believe it to be honest.


I've already written WAY too much in this section of my wrap-up, so I'm going to try and cut it off now. ASHLEY'S LIFE UPDATES:
A little recap of the most exciting thing(s) I've done this month!

This month sort of felt like the big hurrah kick-off of Summer. Although, the friends I have who are still in high school are still finishing up the year, most of us are out of school and in full-on Summer mode now. For me, that meant leaving the house much more frequently which sort of impaired my ability to read a ton of books or blog super much. However, I pushed through it and I'm really happy with what I've done this month. In the way of social things I've done this month, I've been REALLY busy. 

Towards the beginning of the month, I went to see two musicals starring two of my best friends. As I mentioned last month, one of them was Cinderella. Her show was fantastic and she was clearly the most talented one on that stage. In addition to Cinderella, I also saw the Wizard of Oz at the theater I used to attend classes at. I knew roughly half of the people in this cast really, really well (since the other half were small children.) Some of my best friends portrayed Dorothy and the Tin Man. They were phenomenal as well. In the middle of the month, something awesome happened and I GOT MY FIRST CAR! It's a silver 2001 PT Cruiser and I love it super much. I even made a post on my blog about that earlier in the month. 

About a week ago, I went to Cedar Point (our local amusement park) with my mom and little sister. They had a petting zoo there and I made best friends with this ADORABLE little pony. I'm obsessed. And, last but not least, a few days ago I hung out with some of my best friends. My friend's family owns a boat and we went out and then went to the pool party at her boat club. It was super fun and-- surprise, surprise-- I got sunburned. Overall, this month has been awesome and I can't wait to see what the rest of my Summer has in store. Here are some pictures!!

ASHLEY'S LIFE UPDATES:
A little recap of the most exciting thing(s) I've done this month!

Let me start off by apologizing for being so absent for a large portion of this month. Summer is coming and I've been hanging out with friends again and beginning to actual have a life which is weird and unusual for me. In addition to that, I've been in the biggest reading and blogging slump ever for the past few weeks. I'm trying to power through it but it's been evident on my blog, and if not my blog definitely on my Goodreads page. But, I'm trying to get better! Expect for this month to be much better on those fronts because I'm planning on really trying.

Because I haven't been blogging or reading as much. I've done a lot of crazy, fun stuff this month! I had a nice Easter and spent the day with my family at my grandparents house as usual. I also recently went to get ice cream with a group of my best friends whom I hadn't seen in an awfully long time. I got chocolate peanut butter cup, in case you were wondering. Most recently, I went with two of my best friends and got my first ever manicure. One of my friends has her prom coming up, the other is playing Cinderella in her school musical, I just went along for fun. And, it was a great experience! Although, I have literally the worst cuticles on the planet. They bled quite a bit, but I got through it and had the best time hanging out with my friends! ASHLEY'S LIFE UPDATES:
A little recap of the most exciting thing(s) I've done this month!

I've developed a gigantic problem this month and I consider this the reason I've been so reading/blogging slump-y over the last week. Quite recently, I've become ridiculously addicted to an iPad game (Also available on iPhone.) This app is so addictive that I legitimately have spent hours playing it in the 4 or 5 days that I've had it downloaded. It's called Farm Story 2 and if you value free time and productivity at all, you will not download it. It's similar to Farmville I think, but I never played that game so I wouldn't know. It's free which is immensely frustrating because not only does the company who created the game, TeamLava, have this app.. they have over a dozen apps like it. Needless to say, I've tried out at least 5 other games by them and Farm Story 2 is still the best (Followed closely by Castle Story.) Initially, I created this section of the wrap-ups to give you some insight into my life but it the last week.. this game has basically become my life. HELP ME.

  • Emily @ OhMagicHour: In a nutshell, Emily is phenomenal. Not only was she my number one supporter when it came to Thursday Thoughts starting up, but this month she's become one of my awesome book blogger friends on Twitter.  Her blog is super great and recently was redesigned if I'm not mistaken. Right now, she's in Disney World with her family and I'm so insanely jealous because I was to go back SO badly. Thanks for being such a super awesome friend this month, Emily!
  • Jessica @ PriceIsWong: Jessica is one of my very favorite BookTubers. If you weren't aware, I'm incredibly active in the BookTube community when it comes to watching videos, commenting, and joining read-a-longs. I plan on joining BookTube in the next few months and Jessica is someone I totally wish I were friends with. Not only does she run a bomb YouTube channel, but she has this killer blog that is updated regularly with more than just "hey, I posted a video." She's super dedicated, entertaining and her blog is absolutely amazing. Check it out.
  • Kelley, Asti and Leanne @ OhTheBooks: If you're a blogger or are active in the book blogger community but haven't heard of Oh, The Books! I really don't know what rock you've been living under. Kelley, Asti and Leanne were three book bloggers who decided to collaborate and create this kick-ass book blog! It launched this month and is incredible. The graphics alone are, like, orgasmic. Everything about their blog is perfect, beautiful and informative. If you haven't checked out Oh, The Books! and followed them yet, I highly highly highly recommend it.

ASHLEY'S LIFE UPDATES:
A little recap of the most exciting thing(s) I've done this month!
As you may know, I really like theater (specifically musical theater). The reason for that is because I grew up taking theater classes ever since I was 4 years old. I took classes and did shows at the same theater that whole time and a lot of my friends who are still in high school (and younger) still go there. This month a ton of my friends were in the teen theater straight play which was The Children's Hour by Lillian Hellman. It had been a while since I'd gotten to see and hang out with this big group of friends I have, so it was SUPER fantastic to get to see all of them. I can't even explain how great the show was and how nice it was to see everyone. We went to this really cool, hipster-y taco place with most of the cast for their cast party after the show and took quite a few pictures there, so here's a snip-it of that!


 MONTHLY BLOG-SCOVERIES:
A small list of blogs I've discovered and loved this month!

  • Kate @ TalesofBooksandBands and Alexa @ AlexaLovesBooks: These two lovely ladies ran the Book Blogger Love-A-Thon this month. Not only did they do a phenomenal job with that, but they each have fantastic blogs that I've been checking regularly ever since the event!
  • Lindsay and Sarah @ TheBrokeBookGirls: I met Lindsay through the Love-A-Thon and have found myself interacting with her via Twitter every once in a while ever since. These girls run a fabulous blog and are simply sweet as can be. Speaking of sweets, Lindsay makes amazing cookies based on book covers as a hobby. She did I give away during the Love-A-Thon and I won!! I got 4 cookies based on Rainbow Rowell's books (as well as a copy of Attachments)! So thanks for that for the bazillionth time, Lindsay! <3
  • Becca @ PivotBookReviews: Finally, we have Becca. Once again, we also met through the Love-A-Thon and totally clicked. Recently we've started talking a lot and she's become my best book blogger friend. She's basically super great. I totally recommend checking out her blog! She does an especially amazing series called "Cover Puppies" each week. Go check out her blog to see what that's all about!
