Top Ten Characters I Would Want With Me On A Deserted Island

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

Hi, guys! Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! This week's topic is "Top Ten Characters I Would Want With Me On A Deserted Island." I think this topic is actually pretty funny and also going to be super interesting for me to flesh out. We can pick people based on their utilization for survival, but also based on hotness alone. So, I'm going to do a little bit of both and we'll see what happens. It's definitely going to be a fun time. So, let's not waste another moment! Here we go!

1. Thad - NIL: NIL is obviously, like, the go to book to pull characters from this week. It's about a bunch of teenagers stranded on an island. I don't know how to get more perfect than that. Thad is strong, brave, reliable and all around just perfect for helping you out in this sort of situation. Plus, he's a snowboarder who looks like a surfer, so he's not bad to look at either.

2. Emma - Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children: One thing you always need on a deserted island is fire/light. Sure, you always see them rubbing sticks together to create a fire, but that's definitely not fool-proof. Plus, it takes forever! So, with Emma's help we would have fire whenever we needed it. Plus, an infinite light source for exploring the treacherous parts of the island. Not to mention the fact that Miss Peregrine's is one of my all time favorite books. So, I would love having her there with us.

3. Violet - A Series of Unfortunate Events: This might just be because I reread the first two books in this series for the BookTube-A-Thon this past week, but I think Violet would be super helpful to have on the island with us. She's always creating inventions out of nothing and she always has some sort of devious plan. It would be awesome to have Klaus there as well since he's so incredibly intelligent, but we only have room for one Baudelaire on this island.

4. Four - Divergent: I made Four number four. See what I did there? Here, we've got our go-to bookish guy: Four, everyone. I couldn't do a list like this and leave off the most popular "badass, rough-around-the-edges guy with a heart of gold" of the moment. If you don't know who Four is you're living under a rock he's a total badass who's intelligent, muscular and totally perfect to fight off dangerous deserted island creatures. And, he'd probably be rife with ideas of how to get home.

5. Cinder - The Lunar Chronicles: As we all know, Cinder is a cyborg. So.. she probably wouldn't be able to swim. However, using her awesome mechanics and maybe some future technology, I'm sure she could build us a spaceship or something. That would really be ideal. I mean, how easy would it be to just get off the island using a spaceship? Perfect plan right there.

6. Wolf - The Lunar Chronicles: And, then we have Wolf, also from The Lunar Chronicles. Wolf is big, scary and intimidating. He's got the brute force our team needs to take down scary creatures on the island and he's also got the ability to catch animals for food. Wolf is a perfect addition to our team, plus this series is probably my all time favorite series. That being said.. I wouldn't put it past me to bring yet another character from there.

7. Thorne - The Lunar Chronicles: And, just like that, here we have Captain Thorne. Now.. Thorne doesn't technically bring much to the team, however he's my favorite character from the books. He's so suave, funny and just plain adorable. This one is really just a little selfish of me, but I want nothing more than to be trapped on an island with the Captain himself. Please and thank you.

8. Wesley - The Archived: On the note of being selfish and bringing my favorite book boyfriends.. there's also this lovely boy. Wesley is clever, witty and someone I cannot resist. I think he'd be a great asset to the team, not only because he's a cutie, but because he's just someone who would work well under pressure and I'd like to see what he could do under these sort of circumstances.

9. Emma - The Syrena Legacy: Well, I don't want to spoil anything, but if you've read Of Posiden, you know what Emma can do. It's a pretty useful ability she has there and I think we could definitely utilize it considering there will be eleven of us stuck on an island without food. I like Emma (even though I think some people find her annoying?), but I think it would be fun for her to be there and hang out with her.

10. Galen - The Syrena Legacy: And, of course, I can't have Emma without Galen. Just like Emma, Galen is really talented and I think we could use his abilities also. He's an especially fast swimmer. Technically.. He could get himself off the island, but we're going to ignore that fact. Hopefully he and Emma will stick around to help us. I'm sure they'd be super useful. Plus, Galen.. I mean, can you say swoon?

And that's it! I hope you guys enjoyed this week's Top Ten Tuesday! Did we have any of the same characters on our lists? I'm sure I'm not the only one to put down Four. Let me know in the comments! Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Finally someone else who has Thorne on her list! He's the most amazing character from the Series, I love Cinder and Wolf as well but there's just no competition. Violet would be a great choice with her being super smart she can probably cope with everything, really after all that she's been through surviving on a deserted island must be easy for her. Four is another great pick :)
    Loved your list :)

  5. Looks like a very good list, and you've picked some people I haven't seen on any other lists, so you'd have a good chance of getting your whole team. *grin*
